After a serious illness at sixteen, Andrew went looking for a way to rebuild his health and his life, and found meditation and classical yoga. What began as recovery became a discipline. He has since studied meditation with Buddhist monks in Thailand and spent months living and practicing in the Himalayas.
The deepest influence on his teaching is his own meditation teacher, in a traditional lineage from India, together with close study of the classical hatha yoga texts, which is where his preference for long, patient holds comes from. He completed his 200-hour training in the Sivananda tradition in California, his 300-hour advanced training at Goa Yogashala in India, and a 50-hour Yin Yoga certification with Bernie Clark.
